Greetings,

I am with a Los Angeles television production company and we are currently in the early stages of developing a docu-soap show that would follow a family through the ups and downs of their regular day-to-day lives. We are looking for a single woman with no kids who is about to marry or has recently married a man with multiple children -- suddenly they have an "instant family." What's it like to go from a single gal's life to essentially a parent's? How do you navigate those waters? We are looking to make something that is upbeat and positive -- that all families can relate to -- something in the same vein as a show like "Jon & Kate Plus Eight." Would it be possible to have a casting notice posted on your site OR just get some recommendations from you on avenues to go down to find a great family? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

received a casting call from MTV. They are looking for children of divorce ages 16 - 28, to share their stories and experiences.

My apologies. The lifeinablender.com account was moved once from a different server. This caused there to be two DNS zones for the site. An error occurred yesterday which changed both the DNS zones. We have removed the old zone and corrected the new one. The site should resolve properly within 3-4 hours.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who can't find the Blender, but if so, I guess I'll find out.

During a routine backup, they had some problems.. I spoke to a rep who checked into it and has corrected the problem and subsequently, I received this email:

The rep on the phone said we will not lose any data - things will be restored as it was.

I purchased a new hosting package and I am in the process of moving things over. Our new message board is installed, but needs to be rebuilt a bit! YAY!

I have a few questions which I have sent to our new hosts and I need their responses before I can get much further.

Today is DD's birthday, so I'm on my way to get her cake and party favors to take to preschool.. then back to the hospital to see my new nephew and this weekend, my plan is to get the board up and running!

Nephew was born yesterday afternoon (4:09 PST) at 6lbs6oz and 19 inches long (same exact size as my son was) :)

He's so tiny and cute and looks like my brother so far.. I can't wait to hold him! DD loved seeing him yesterday and is also excited for him to grow up a little and play with her and DS.

Okay.. so I'll be back around later today, possibly, but surely this weekend.

I can move our entire site (homepage and all) to a different hosting site.. but, as long as we have no access to our files (which we don't) I can't transfer all of the existing message board data. So we would have to start from scratch. But, I'm not sure that's a bad thing either, considering how things were going right before the board went down....

Or, we wait this out (I do have several requests in for help, but I'm not getting much response, despite the hosting site's claims to 24/7 help)

I have left FIVE messages with the answering service in the past week. I have emailed, I have been patient... I'm getting really frustrated.

SOooooo.. I am shopping around for a new web host. Even if the site comes back up, I think that I will transfer the entire domain and purchase web space through the same company who hosts the message board.

I am working on it, everybody. I am very sorry it's been so long.. I'm sorry about the inconvenience and I hope to have everything resolved within the next few days. I have a very busy week with my family, but I'll try hard.

I also have to move my DH's business site, which is also down and he's not receiving emails or any web business because of it. He's ticked too.

Ugh, this is a mess.

And, Sara, and Jackie.. you were right. The servers are down because of the latest 2 storms. I had originally thought the hosting site was located in California, but they're not.. they're in Houston and they've been down because of the storms.

So, while it still stinks, at least now we know there IS light at the end of the tunnel.

Now, I just need to wait for my main email account to work right. Ugh.

And my DH's business site is down too (which is hosted by the same company).. so at least I know it's not just the Blender. I did manage to connect to the hosting site, but there is no message or anything indicating what is happening.. and when I click on the 'support' link, it times out and cannot connect. Oh well, I think that may mean that they're working on getting everything back up and running. I hope.

Meanwhile, I have managed to get into the old board. I can reset passwords if we need to and I think that the whole board is available now (not just the welcome threads).

Okay, well, I called the hosting company and got their phone service. The woman who answered said she can't even get through to give them their messages! She has no updates, has no idea what's going on and has been answering calls like crazy for 3 days, from people like me, who's site is down.

Never fear, Blender members.. the Blender will be back up and running as soon as we can communicate with the hosting site.

It seems everybody's servers are down, including the hosting site.. Really stinks for us, but it's not forever. We hope!
